Cast: Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Takia, Sharmila Tagore, Javed Jaffrey, Girish Karnad, Anant Mahadevan, Benjamin Gilani, Rushad Rana, Utara Pawkar and Others Director:Nagesh Kukunoor Producer:Shailendra Singh Music:Salim Merchant, Sulaiman Merchant, Neeraj Shridhar, Bohemia Date of Released:April 03, 2009

Nagesh Kukunoor's '8 x 10 Tasveer' has a good storyline but the narration falls flat. Screenplay is half baked it goes completely haywire in the last 30
mins. Cinematography is good and presentation is excellent and Backgound music is perfect. Nagesh Kukunoor messed up big time, his direction
and screenplay is completely pathetic.
Story:
Jai (Akshay) is a forest ranger. He has this unique ability to look into the future and all he needs is a photograph of the person or location. However,
Jai is keen on unraveling the mystery behind the death of his father Jatin Puri (Benjamin) and to add to his beliefs, even the detective (Javed) vouches
the same. Jai gets hold of the photograph that has the four people in it including his father just before he died. From then on starts Jai's journey in
locating the killer and the motive. In this process, he has to let go off few things. Is he successful in finding the killer or not forms the rest of the
story.
Performance:
Akshay does his best to justify his character, his performance was flawless. Ayesha is natural. Sharmila Tagore is graceful. Jaaved Jaaferi is first-rate.
Girish Karnad, Benjamin Gilani, Ananth Mahadevan and Rushaad Rana were apt in their respective roles.
Music:
Background score is excellent but nothing to rave about from the songs department. Songs were just about okay.
Verdict:
Nagesh Kukunoor's '8 x 10 Tasveer' is a complete disappointment. Movie is more of a sleep-inducing than suspense-thriller. 8 x 10 Tasveer can be
rated as an average movie. | |
