'Baabarr' is directed by Ashu Trikha, and had come up with a rather hard hitting subject and his
presentation and narrative were impressive.
Story:
A gangster's tale, the story is set on the backdrop of the lawless Uttar Pradesh and here is a ten year old
boy who kills a man with a country made gun. From then on, he begins to instill fear in the hearts of all
those and in no time, he grows up to be the most dreaded person. He is none other than Baabarr (soham)
and there comes a time when his atrocities go beyond the line. The authorities wake up and decide to put
an end to his regime, in comes the famous encounter specialist S P Dwivedi (mithun) and his job is to
stop Baabarr, dead or alive. There are also other crooks like Nawaz (mukesh), Bhaiyya Ji (govind
namdeo) and others who have a role to play in Baabarr's life. What happens from there forms the rest of
the story.
Performance:
Soham Shah did a very good job as a debutante, Urvasi was hot and sexy, Mithun Chakraborty came up
with a shocker and was fabulous. Equally riveting was Om Puri, Tinnu Anand again was a revelation.
Govind Namdeo was apt, Sushant Singh was super, Shakti Kapoor was back to form, the others did their
bit to contribute.
Music:
'Baabarr' music is scored by Anand Raj Anand, Sunil Singh. He had not up to the mark, it an average fare.
