'EMI' is a Socially relevant film narrated with a touch of comedy. At a time when the world faces severe economic
recession, 'EMI' sounds a topical alarm bell. Tragically the narration doesn't follow the golden rule of survival. It stumbles
at times in trying to over-reach, moving the body of the plot into positions that damages the narration.
Story:
Sattar Bhai (Sanjay Dutt) owner of Good Luck Recovery Agency is the savior and the solution for all those ever caught in
the debt trap. From bhaigiri to business to politics to social work that's how Sattar wants to progress in life. He has
already graduated from bhaigiri to business and is now eager to hump into politics. Most sought after by banks, telecom
companies and various multinationals, today his Good Luck Recovery Agency is Number 1 in India. Sattar follows a
simple rule when it comes to his business Loan liya hai to chukao, shaadi kiya hai to nibhao. Does Sattar succeed in
using this simple principle when dealing with desperate characters and cases?
Performance:
The only saving grace of 'EMI' is Sanjay Dutt. All others were just average, basically the script was not stong enough to
do justice to their characters. Urmila and malaika provided required glamor to the movie. Arjun Rampal and Ashish
Chaudhary were perfect.
Music:
Music by Chirantan Bhatt is good. Suits the atmosphere. Few songs are hummable. Choreography is good.
Verdict :
'EMI' takes its own time in establishing all the characters and stories and finally folding it all in a hurry. If you are hard core
Sanjay Dutt fan, go watch it. Movie can be rated as average. | |
