'Kambakkth Ishq' is an out and out mass entertainer. Director Sabbir Khan picks up a theme that may catch you by complete surprise and he presents it like never before. The main focus is on the entertainment quotient. Cinematography is fabulous. Also, the presence of Hollywood stars - Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards is an added bonus.
Story:
'Kambakkth Ishq' is about Viraj Shergill (Akshay) who happens to be working as a stuntman in Hollywood and like a typical person, he believes that women are good only for two things. On the other hand, there is Simrita Rai (Kareena) who is attitude to the fullest and she can show her power through her highly acidic words. Her true colors are revealed whenever she comes across a man who has arrogance written all over him. As fate would have it, the paths of Viraj and Simrita cross each other when Viraj's brother Lucky (Aftab) is all set to marry his lady love Kamini (Amrita Arora) and she happens to be the best friend of Simrita. From then on, both Viraj and Simrita cross swords against each other and in this process, they also decide to stop the wedding of their loved ones at any cost. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Performance:
Movie belongs to both, Akshay and Kareena. Akshay's comedy timing is perfect. He is in terrific form and his performance is commendable. kareena is not just glamourous but her performance is extradinory. Aftab and Amrita are perfect for their parts. Vindu Singh is apt. Javed Jaffrey is average. Boman Irani is perfect, Kirron Kher is regular. Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards are well integrated in the narrative.
Music:
Music and background score are top notch and there are three songs that are worth listening to. Cinematography is fabulous and editing has been crisp but could have been better at few places.
Verdict:
In a nutshell, 'Kambakkth Ishq' is a complete comedy entertainer and targets mostly mass audience, not advisable to watch with family. Can be rated as an above average movie. | |
