'Paathshaala' is directed by Milind Ukey. And he has come up with a thought provoking and sensitive concept but then he was not successful in conceiving it on the screen effectively.
Story:
Set on the backdrop of a Saraswati Vidya Mandir school, a new teacher by the name of Rahul Prakash (shahid) joins and he teaches English. In no time, he builds rapport with the management, staff and students alike but then, he senses that there is something missing in the school in a big way. His senses prove right with the manager of the school Sharma (saurabh) chalking out a new plan which is nothing but fleecing the money out of parents. Rahul protests this and manages to get the support of teachers Anjali (Ayesha) and Vijendra Chauhan (sushant). However, he gets a shock when the dedicated and committed principal Aditya Sahay (nana) takes the management's side. What happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.
Performance:
Shahid Kapoor does complete justice to his role and he gives few engaging moments, Ayesha looks sweet as a doll and shines with her performance, as usual it is Nana Patekar who hogs the limelight with his mild but intense performance, Saurabh Shukla is the best, Sushant Singh was superb, the others were there to fill the screen.
Music:
'Paathshaala' music is composed by Hanif Sheikh. And the background score was alright but songs were not up to the mark.
