'Raajneeti' is directed by Prakash Jha. And he has come up with a very complicated tale but then he has proved his mettle with elegant presentation and exceptional narration.
Story:
The story begins with Bhaskar Sanyal, a gutsy leader willing to take on any powerful politician but due to an incident, he goes into oblivion. Times change and in comes Prithviraj (arjun) who is restless to get to power since he belongs to a powerful political clan but then he has a rival in the form of his own cousin Veerendra (manoj) who is crafty and mean. Therefore, Prithvi decides to field in Suraj (ajay), an angry man with strong ideals and leadership qualities. Meanwhile, Prithvi's brother Samar (ranbir) has no clue about politics but he gets sucked into the quagmire. Both brothers are guided by Brij Gopal (nana). Things get twisted with the arrival of Indu (katrina), daughter of a very powerful industrialist. What happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.
Performance:
Naseerudin Shah was brief but mind blowing, Arjun Rampal was a revelation, Manoj Bajpai is marvelous, Nana was fabulous, Ajay Devgn was excellent, Katrina was impressive, the real show stealer was Ranbir Kapoor. The lead cast was well supported by the others like Darshan Jariwala, Shruthi Seth, Nikhila Tirkha, Sarah Thompson and others contributed in their own way and added value to the film.
Music:
'Raajneeti' music is composed by Pritam Chakraborty, Aadesh Shrivastav, Shantanu Moitra, Wayne Sharp. And the background score haunts the moods, and songs were not upto the mark.
