Subhash Ghai's 'Yuvvraaj' is promising. After a long time Ghai has given a good movie to his thirsty fan's. It has very high
production values. Screenplay and narration is excellent. There is nothing new as far as the storyline goes but the
presentation is good.
Story:
Deven 'Yuvvraaj' (Salman Khan) is arrogant, irritated, angry, and feels his best when he is with his love Anushka (Katrina
Kaif). His father Dr. Banton (Salman Khan) loathes him and refuses to allow them to be married, even after a 5 year
courtship. The beginning layers of the film set up Deven's character and his anti-family values.
When he sees that his father has died, by discovering it from a newspaper, he is excited for his chance to get his
inheritance and win Anushka's hand in marriage if he is rich. He sets off to meet his cooky family, including his elder
brother Gyanesh (Anil Kapoor) and bad boy little brother Danny (Zayed Khan). Only problem is, the entire wealth has
been given to Gyanesh. His mind is slow and has child-like behaviour, so now the 2 little brothers have no choice but to
band together and find a way to get their share. DO these guys overcome their greed for money and will 'Yuvvraaj'
succeed to get his love ..forms the crux of the movie.
Performance:
As far as the performances are considered, Anil Kapoor steals the show, he gave an excellent performance. Salman
Khan was not in form and gave average performance. Zayed khan was okay. Katrina Kaif looked gorgeous and elegant.
Her performance was apt. Other supporting characters justified their roles.
Music:
A.R.Rahman's music is the highlight. Songs 'Tu Hi Meri Dost Hai' and 'Tu Muskara' are the pick of the lot.
Verdict:
To wrap up Subhash Ghai's 'Yuvvraaj' is worth a watch for its high production values, beautiful locations and good music.
Movie can be rated as average at the box office. | |
