'Zor Lagaa Ke... Haiya' has a new concept with a very meaningful and thought provoking storyline. But the writing and execution of the of the movie is not upto expectations.
Story:
Movie's story is about a group of fun loving kids. These kids come across a different situation when they realize that a tree that has been there for many years is in the threat of getting chopped. This is due to the wily builder Gupta (Mahesh Manjrekar) who wants to raise a building there. However, he gets stiff opposition from a homeless old man Raavana (Mithun Chakrabarty) and in no time, Raavana is joined by Ram and his gang of friends to stop Gupta from his evil venture. On the
other hand, he lusts the construction worker Chamki in a big way but then is not successful. How the kids and Raavana succeed in saving the tree forms the rest of the story.
Performance:
Mithun Chakrabarty's performance was graceful. Gulshan Grover was apt. Mahesh Manjrekar did a good job. Raj Zutshi was okay. Riya Sen gave an average performance. Among the kids, Ashwin Chitale was wonderful. Hardik Thakkar, Meghan Jadhav, Ayesha Kaduskar are Ritwik Tyagi were average.
Music:
Music is mediocre and cinematography too is just average.
Verdict:
Overall 'Zor Lagaa Ke... Haiya' has good concept, but was executed poorly. In other words good story gone waste. 'Zor Lagaa Ke... Haiya' can be rated as a below average movie. | |
